Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
PDredesign — Professional Development Toolkit

About this project
PDredesign is a digital toolkit and community of practice created to help school districts fundamentally improve how they approach professional development for teachers. Originally developed as part of a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation initiative, the platform transformed what had been offline spreadsheets and PDF-based assessments into an interactive digital experience. At the heart of the platform is the Readiness Assessment — a tool that helps districts evaluate their current PD systems and chart a path toward transformation. We handled product design, UX, user research, visual design, full-stack development, branding, analytics, user support, and training. The result was a platform that reached over 2,200 users, approximately 2,000 teachers, and more than 40 national organizations. The key insight was that digitizing the forms wasn't enough — the whole experience needed rethinking to make collaboration possible in a way that paper never could.
