VPAT and Accessibility Conformance Reports for edtech and software vendors

Schools, universities and government agencies ask vendors for an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) before they buy. An ACR is a completed VPAT, the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template published by the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).

We test your product first and then write the report from what we found, so procurement teams can trust it.

Which edition you need

  • Section 508 edition: for US federal buyers
  • WCAG edition: for buyers who ask for WCAG conformance, including state and local governments under ADA Title II
  • EU edition: for buyers who reference EN 301 549
  • INT edition: covers Section 508, WCAG and EN 301 549 in one report

How we write it

Every criterion in the report gets a conformance level (Supports, Partially Supports, Does Not Support or Not Applicable) and remarks explaining it. Those levels come from testing the product with automated tools, manual review and assistive technology, not from a questionnaire.

An honest "Partially Supports" with clear remarks serves you better than an overstated report. Procurement teams test products, and a report that doesn’t match what they find costs more than a known gap.

What you get

  • A completed ACR in the edition your buyers ask for
  • The issue log behind it, for your product team
  • A remediation roadmap, so the next report can say "Supports" more often
  • Updates when your product changes significantly

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a VPAT and an ACR?

The VPAT is the blank template. Once it’s filled in for a specific product, it’s an Accessibility Conformance Report.

Is a VPAT a certification?

No. It documents how well a product conforms to accessibility standards. It doesn’t certify the product, and buyers may test the product themselves.

How often should we update our ACR?

Whenever a release changes the user interface in a significant way, and at least once a year, so the report matches what buyers see.
