HAND / Housing&
Housing Indicator Tool

About this project
The Housing Indicator Tool tracks housing production, policy, and affordability metrics across local jurisdictions in the Capital Region. HAND uses the platform to hold jurisdictions accountable and help stakeholders understand where housing opportunity exists — and where it's falling short. We've been building and evolving this tool since its first version, and we're now in the fourth major iteration. Each version has deepened the data, refined the user experience, and expanded the platform's reach. When you work with a client that long, you stop responding to feature requests and start anticipating them. The current version features interactive maps, filterable data tables, and jurisdiction-level scorecards that make housing data usable for policymakers, advocates, and community members.
